Rafiya Javed

Rafiya Javed is a Senior Research Engineer at Google DeepMind, where she has worked on research about the alignment of generative AI systems to human rights as well as methods for improving their fairness. She previously worked as an ML engineer designing AI systems for applications across different domains like advertising and medicine. In addition to 8 years of machine learning engineering in industry, Rafiya holds a multidisciplinary background, holding an M.D. from McGill University and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Florida.
