Matt Steinberg

Matt Steinberg is a Tech and Public Policy Scholar at the Knight-Georgetown Institute (KGI), where he focuses on data privacy, platform governance, and artificial intelligence. Previously, as a policy fellow at New America's Open Technology Institute, his work on AI agents and the Model Context Protocol won the 2026 Future of Privacy Forum's Privacy Papers for Policymakers Award. Before entering policy, he was a film and television development executive and playwright whose plays have been produced in theaters across the country.
