Jean Burgess

Jean Burgess is Distinguished Professor of Digital Media and Director of the GenAI Lab in the QUT Digital Media Research Centre and School of Communication, and Associate Director of the national ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society. She has researched and published widely on digital platforms and automation in society; her latest co-authored book is Automating Media: The Transformation of Culture and Communication (forthcoming with Polity Press).
