Anna Tumadóttir

Anna Tumadóttir is CC’s CEO. Anna joined Creative Commons in September 2019 and worked as Director of Product and COO before being appointed CEO in early 2024. Her work is focused on ensuring equitable, open access to knowledge, while balancing societal considerations around creativity and agency in an age of AI. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Macalester College and a master’s in strategic management from the University of Iceland. Her background includes leadership of distributed start-ups and work in public university administration.
